Starting from the National Trust property of Hidcote Gardens, well worth a visit, continue up onto the escarpment with superb views all round and then descend to Foxcote House, a large manor-style property, before continuing to Ilmington, reputed to be the highest village in Warwickshire.

There are a couple of pubs in the village (not always open at lunch-times and The Howard Arms does not allow dogs inside, even when by that time is was raining heavily). Poor Brackle was done out of his crisp allowance!!

Continue now on the Centenary Way, passing a lovely little man-made pool in the Dingle, before joining The Monarch Way to return to Hidcote.

22/5/04 Tracey Wyatt. A superb walk with the most wonderful views. We asked nicely and were allowed to park at Hidcote Manor without charge. Completed in 3 hours which included 45 minute picnic stop for lunch.
