The walk begins in the village of High Lane on the A6, the walk going south along the Macclesfield Canal, which it leaves for tracks and paths into Lyme Park. A lengthy track leads back to the canal, which is crossed to reach the Middlewood Way, a recreational path on a disused railway line bringing you back to the start. The few stiles are user-friendly and the going is good as the greater part of the walk is on tracks or private roads. I have suggested alternative routes at three points on the walk - see Waymarks 5, 7 and 19.

Walked 13/04/24. Another good easy walk from Jim Grindle. The walk is fairly flat throughout with only some minor sections of mud despite all the rain we have recently had.
