Starting at a lay-by to the west of the Raemoir House Hotel, the walk starts off along a leafy lane, rising gently at first, then passing through very pleasant woodland with glimpses of farmland through the edge of the wood. It continues to rise steadily until the trees eventually give way to open heather moorland.

Good views southwards are enjoyed until the route turns to the North East. This section is much more level, although it eventually undulates some more. By this time full spectacular panoramic views from Deeside to Donside can be enjoyed. The descent then begins and the heather is left behind as the track returns to forest. Much of the woodland has recently been felled so the outlook is improved. Eventually the walk returns to more farmland on the way back to the start.

October 20th 2010 - Tree felling is currently taking place on this walk which is not a problem in itself but coupled with wet weather all the machinery has made the track very very mucky and not very pleasant to walk through.
