This is a short, circular walk that is based on a railway station, although there is also adequate car parking. It descends by gravelled footpaths to the coast road, where it picks up the Sefton Coastal Path through the dunes before leaving it to rise gently to the Royal Birkdale Golf Club, which is near the start of the walk. It offers good views out to sea and is ideal for a half-day walk or for the shorter days of winter.
