From the National Trust car park at Hindhead, most people tend to walk in the direction of the Devil's Punch Bowl. However, there is some very interesting woodland walking to the east of the Punch Bowl. At the time of writing (October 2011) there is a viewing platform at the north tunnel entrance and this walk visits it.

January 2014: the viewing platform has been removed but it is still possible to walk to its location to view the tunnel exit.

The walk is muddy in places. If you are interested in a longer walk, it would be possible to combine this with 4901 and 2986 (or even both!).
