The walk sets off in a north-easterly direction to cross Arnfield Moor. Please note that the path on the ground does not equate with the right of way on the map from Waymarks 10 to 12. After Waymark 12 the route then turns west to follow the edge overlooking the Chew Valley and Dovestone Reservoir. Alphin Pike is a particularly good spot for lunch as there is a small walled enclosure that offers some protection, especially in inclement weather. Soon after this spot you drop down to join the Tameside Trail and the Pennine Bridleway along Moor Edge Road, which is mostly little more than a stony track. You leave the bridleway at Walkerwood Reservoir to climb and cross Hollingworthall Moor, eventually to arrive back at Hobson Moor Road. There are grand views all day, weather permitting.

Although the walk is titled Hollingworth Hall, the hall no longer exists, having been demolished in 1943 the land, having been purchased by Manchester Waterworks.
