This walk starts at a car park between the villages of Holcombe Brook and Holcombe, Ramsbottom. The first section climbs up to reach a lane which goes around the base of the moor, crossing three streams, to reach a track going up towards Bull Hill (trig point). This is the section where the third stream is crossed for a second time via stepping stones (slabs). After visiting the trig point and admiring the view the path heads down to reach Pilgrims Cross (memorial stone). From the cross the route climbs passing two cairns before dropping down to a valley. The next section follows a path, (last part show on the map) through the quarry and down a track to reach the village of Holcombe. The last section is down the road to reach the start point. There are no stiles along this walk so it could be a good walk for dogs. It is a mixture of paths and tracks shown on the map between WM01 and WM06 and also between WM13 and WM15. The sections between are not shown on the map but are quite clear on the ground. Road names added for clarity.
