This walk is never far away from the River Wye as its course heads around a long ridge jutting out in its path. The river is crossed twice by two suspension footbridges and in between, the route takes you along the top of the ridge which is encircled by the river.

The walk heads back to the start by following the river around the huge bend, the last part of which follows the Wye Valley Walk along the banks of the river. The walk takes you through several delightful villages along the way, but they are all very small and consequently there are no pubs or shops along the route of the walk, so you will need to take your own food and drink with you.

A very enjoyable walk with easy to follow directions. My GPS says it's 9 miles.

A most enjoyable walk. We think it's more a moderate walk as it is quite flat except for 2 gradual climbs. The instructions were spot on and we walked yesterday 23/10/11 with the whole family ranging from 7 - 50+ years old. Lots of wildlife to see and crossed 2 suspension foot bridges which my little lad was very enthuiastic about. Recommended and will be doing again :)

I did this walk on 25/5/09 and it's a very pleasant gentle stroll for a couple of hours along the Wye valley. Be very careful with parking on the road at the start - there is a kids' activity/canoeing centre in the village which brings in mini buses and coaches so the road is busier than it might seem.
