Hollingbourne – Harps Wood – Hollingbourne Manor - Hollingbourne

Hollingbourne Village nestles under the North Downs, some five miles to the east of Maidstone. The village has over one hundred listed buildings and two conservation areas and is surrounded by several sites of special scientific interest. There are three public houses and one quirky shop with a part-time post office. There is also an historic church. There are spectacular views across the village and Kent towards the South Downs from the top of Hollingbourne Hill. However, this walk keeps to the lower levels, whilst still affording great views. The terrain is fairly level, with farming land and woodland. Both the Pilgrim's Way and the North Downs Way are touched on briefly. There are some muddy areas, but not too many; it's good for a winter walk.
