The 'official' start was from Holt Country Park but as is often the case, we parked elsewhere on the route. We prefer to use a more central (and free) location so parked near Hempstead Church instead. This proved to be a good move when the weather turned as we were getting close to where the car was parked. We cut back to the car and skipped the remaining couple of miles by omitting WP 8 & 9. As we drove home through pounding rain so that was a good call. Five miles and 4 caches on the way round and stayed dry. Result! The parts we walked were easy going. The given route would suggest adding a WP 14 to give a specific point where one should re-enter Holt Country Park from the East Side. The stretch between WP 3 & 4 is particularly pleasing, long grass meadows and woods - enchanting! Between WP 4 & 5 we were walking through chest high crops, lovely but got soaked! Really nice walk, I think we saw the best of it even though the weather caused us to lop off the eastern loop.
