The walk starts in Honley, a small hamlet in West Yorkshire, goes uphill towards Castle Hill, with the tower atop. Then it descends to Berry Brow, a small village. The uphill section, on the side of the Holme Valley, is steep in parts. Take your time and absorb the views. There are several seats along the way. All the footpaths are good, with a short section along a quiet lane.
