This is a very good walk in beautiful countryside around Hook Norton, where it begins. Starting from the east side of the village to walk first of all through a tasteful development, the route soon enters open spaces along the edge of fields and shortly afterwards reaches a conservation area where there is a bench overlooking a pond and a new tree plantation on the other side. Field-paths, bridleways and woodland paths follow in superb countryside on the way to Sibford Ferris, where there is a public school, the route passing through its grounds before taking the village streets of warm-coloured stone dwellings. There follow some wonderful scenic views over the valley to the nearby village of Sibford Gower before a little country lane-walking. There is a remarkable number of farms in this area and a fairly steep climb to a vantage point allows several of them to be seen at one time. More field-walking, passing several other farms in this rich agricultural area, brings the route back to Hook Norton, where another part of this large and interesting village is explored on the way back to the starting point.
