Breathtakingly lovely scenes abound throughout this walk which begins at the edge of Hornton, visiting Horley before venturing in the direction of Shotteswell. The artistry of patchwork fields over the valley is perfect, the shapes and hues fitting together in complete harmony. The llamas in buttercup meadows at Lower Farm are as curious about passers-by as can be said of surprised travellers. Ancient tracks and footways lead uphill and down and in and out of enclosed areas and in wide expanses of farmland, all part of the larger picture depicting the beautiful surrounds of these parts. The charming village of Hornton, built of the warm sand-coloured local stone, and with pretty, well-tended gardens, is the final delight of this super little excursion.
