Although 70 metres lower than the popular mass of Hay Tor, Hound Tor is a totally different structure and has as much if not more charm than its higher neighbour and benefits from being much less touristy through having no facilities. Once away from the tor itself, the walker will see few other people. The walk covers a range of locations from the farming areas of the lower moor, through woodland and out on the high, open moor with outstanding, panoramic views over Dartmoor.

Can confirm a good walk for changeable weather. We started with high cloud, a light breeze and sunny spells and by the time we got to 9 it was misty and drizzling hard. Easy to navigate though. Lovely picnic bench with view just after 7.
