Howden Park Centre - River Almond - Bellsquarry Plantation - Bankton Mains Park - River Almond - Howden Park Centre

From the Howden Park Centre, the route skirts Howden Park, crosses the River Almond and follows the south bank for 1.2km. It then follows the Bellsquarry Path, which leads to the old village. The pub has an Italian restaurant upstairs. The walk continues through Bellsquarry Plantation and Bankton Mains Park. A highlight of the walk is Dedridge Pond, with its birdlife. The route passes an unnamed pond near Midcalder Village, then regains the River Almond. A scenic riverside walk is followed, with no houses in sight, and the walk finishes with a walk along the other side of Howden Park. There are toilets and a café within the Howden Park Centre.
