A circular walk from the elevated village of Iveston through fields, lanes and along two of the many railway paths that run through the rolling landscape of this picturesque area of North County Durham.
From Iveston the walk descends across the Stockerley Burn before rising to intersect a flat, broad bridleway that leads to Crookhall. Easy, fairly flat walking follows as the route passes through the outlying areas of Consett to intersect a large sculpture on the Consett and Sunderland railway path. The walk changes direction at Lydgetts Junction, the intersection of three railway paths, as the route starts a long, flat walk along the line of the Lanchester Valley Railway Path. Field-walking through a horse practice gallop follows before the route intersects and crosses the A691. The final lap of the walk is almost entirely through fields as the terrain rises sharply on its return to the lofty village of Iveston.
