This largely flat walk follows the River Erme from the old bridge right in the centre of Ivybridge. The path is obvious and wide, although I cut it short at the point where it became overgrown and difficult; the only noticeable climb on the walk starts from this point. The river and the woods are a pleasure at any time of year and the walk will usefully occupy a morning or an afternoon with lots of interest waterfalls and colourful trees.

I walked this route after a long period of heavy rain and the River Erme in full spate is a magnificent sight. As stated previously the second stile at WP5 has gone. A walking pole is advisable along the Kings Leat after WP6 because you may have to cross a fast flowing stream on slippery stepping stones. Overall a very enjoyable walk. Regards Keith

I loved the walk but was very rocky and steep so made it tough as we had kids and their bikes. They loved the downhill on the line though! Note that the 2nd stile over the wall no longer exists
