From the beautiful and ancient Jesús Church we are soon in open country as we make our way northwards up the lovely valley beneath Can Furnet. Eventually we reach the quiet lane that divides Can Furnet from Puig de sa Creu and have 700 metres or so to walk along it, enjoying the vistas down the valley towards the capital.

Leaving the lane, we pass the Art Gallery Micus (2013) and follow a dirt track that will eventually climb and then descend to join the Cala Llonga to Jesús road. A couple of hundred metres along the road we leave again up a track that skirts Serra de Balansat and soon climb up again to the fenced edge of a massive quarry.

A lovely pinewood way with splendid views over Los Freus Channel and Formentera brings us back down from the Serra and at the bottom we join another track. This will take us through pinewoods to the outskirts of Jesús and soon we rejoin our outward way and have only a short distance to bring us back to Nuestra Senora de Jesús (to give it its full title).

Walk checked in March 2019 and a number of descriptive and picture changes made. In spite of the unavoidable stretches of road walking, this remains an interesting and very varied hike and is highly recommended. Jim Arymar.
