The walk is basically a tour of the two reservoirs and is mainly on tracks, although in poor weather there will be one muddier stretch. The walk passes several pubs and indeed, may be started from one in preference to the start in this description, which is Jumbles Country Park. It also passes Turton Tower and its café, which could make a diversion. The area is excellent for birdlife both on the water and in the trees; birdsong accompanied us even in late winter.

Easy walk. Good instructions. Two road sections. Fairly busy but good footpaths. Several pubs on route when they open.
