This nearly flat walk starts from Kidsgrove on the Staffordshire / Cheshire border between Stoke-on-Trent and Congleton. After a short canal section it goes across fields, eventually reaching The Bleeding Wolf, a public house with a legend attached. From here it is a pleasant walk across fields and woodland to join the Trent and Mersey Canal at Church Lawton and the return to Kidsgrove. Throughout most of the walk there are commanding views up to Mow Cop with its prominent folly castle and also across the Cheshire plain; a walk for all the family in all seasons.
