Starting from the church in Kington, this is a delightful country walk in Herefordshire, partly on Offa's Dyke which climbs 426 metres above sea level, with stunning views and the solitude of moorland stretching away for miles. Footpaths and tracks through the two small communities of Bredward and Hergest lead through meadows and woodland and over the River Arrow. The little town of Kington is worth a wander round and Hergest Croft Gardens is a further attraction en route.

Completed this walk extending it westwards to Huntington on 13 Sep 2017. Valley walk by River Arrow ok despite walking into rain and headwind. Huntington extension very worthwhile in terms of interest and views. Walk up to Hergest Ridge very good on pleasant paths in sunshine. Views from Ridge to Shropshire hills, Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons superb. Easy walking mainly of short grass and descent to Kington excellent. Walk with the extension is recommended if in the area. Revised distance 10 miles.
