Enjoy a short but compact walk along Kinver Edge in Staffordshire. The walk starts at a free car park just north of Kingsford. We immediately climb the Woodpecker and Cole Tit Trail up to The Staffordshire Way to pass Nanny's Rock and along Kinver Edge. Fantastic views are offered in all directions and there are ample benches all along this route.
We descend at the foot of the National Trust restoration of The Kinver Rock Houses. The Top Grounds are free and there's a tea room with toilets. Entry to the lower caves are only a couple of pounds, which is used for their upkeep. There is also a large car park here, should you wish to start the walk from a different point. From here we have a short walk around the NT grounds and re-enter at the foot of Kinver Edge to take a lower path offering a different perspective of the edge you've previously walked. The path after a short time leads us back to Waymark 3, where we make our way back down to the walk start.
We did this walk on 28/3/2010. For us Kinver Edge is one of those gems that's only down the road, but you can't believe you've never been there...
