This is an enjoyable long walk, mostly along tree-lined tracks and very quiet country lanes. Some of the route is where Lord Nelson would have walked in his youth (see connection in Additional Information). At the King's Head, Woodton, you are assured of a warm welcome by Sandra and her family. The menu is a very tempting one; there is also a choice of real ales to sup.

Ref Walk point 13: About 100 yards in, the track at present is impassable, knee deep in mud with deep ruts. It will take some time to dry out and may even need remedial work. At time of walking the field was occupied by a travellers camp site.
