Visiting most of Knole Park and using a section of the Greensand Way, you also pass two pleasant villages and a number of select properties. There are orchards on both sides of one long lane and with chestnuts and cobnuts also along the way, you appreciate why Kent has been called the Garden of England.

The deer-park at Knole is full of interest, with its enormous herds of fallow and Japanese Sika deer which have roamed free there for hundreds of years. Knole House can also be visited through the National Trust although members of the Sackville family still live there. Be aware there is a golf club in Knole Park, so for your safety take care not to stray onto the course.

Completed this walk today, great views and the pub in Godden Green is excellent. I would say this is probably a moderate walk rather than easy, due to some steep sections. A great walk with some great views.

Completed this walk on a sunny Easter Monday. It was very enjoyable. However on reaching Waymark 9 we found that two stiles lay ahead across the field. The one to use is the one to the right which has yellow markers. The nearer one to the left leads to woodland which is largely fenced off..

In late April this walk has some great bluebell woods, especially between Points 4 and 5. In early spring I would recommend revising the walk between Points 5 and 6 and go via the Greensand Way which is the diamond marked path on the OS. When the trees are not yet in leaf and on a clear day you have fantastic views from the ridge down over the Weald and Tonbridge. You can also stop at the lookout at One Tree Hill.

My wife and I done this walk yesterday. Enjoyable but I certainly wouldn't rate it as an easy walk. There are a number of climbs which are very tiring to say the least. Also Step 8 was very confusing and I am not sure we came out where we should have done, but we arrived at the correct point eventually.

A great walk in Sevenoaks. Knole house was not open (Feb 07), opens normally sometime in March and therefore we suggest parking in the main car-park (near Brasserie St.Nicholas, a fine Brasserie we should add...) and then walk through the high street to the park. All in all, great variety and very friendly deer! Good distance and well worth doing. 8/10.
