Hidden in the Trent Valley close to Biddulph in North Staffordshire is the beautiful tranquil Knypersley reservoir. This is the start point for this walk which soon rises up through the woods and out of the valley passing a mysterious holy well (Gawtons Well )and onto a ridge with far reaching views across six counties. Then its down into the valley to follow the infant River Trent back to Knypersley Pool. A walk of contrast between valley and ridge.

I did part of this walk on 23rd November.but at Brown Edge took the public footpath down to Norton Green and back up to Knypersley Reservoir. This worked out quite well. Having said that Phil and Sue's walk is superb. I will definitely do it again.
