This walk starts at a convenient lakeside car park but soon enters old woodland beside the small River Elorn. There are some pretty riverside scenes and an ancient clapper-stone bridge and stepping-stones. The route often runs between earthen banks surmounted with large and often interestingly contorted trees which were once hedges, similar to those which still exist in Devon. At times you follow local paths with little waymarking, while at others you will be following the GR 380 (long-distance path). Main roads are quickly crossed, while there is little traffic on the on-road sections, many of which are no through routes.
The scenery includes farmland, pretty hamlets and the pleasant small town of Sizun with an impressive church and parish close.
