This is an excellent walk for anybody with an interest in natural history. The trees in the parkland have on them over 100 species of lichens and there are also mosses, beetles and birds, including treecreeper, tawny owl, nuthatch and all three British woodpeckers. Nine of the fourteen British bats can be found here and there is an abundance of grassland flowers. On the River Fowey are otters and we saw lots of dippers and grey wagtails, more of the latter than I have seen anywhere else. You could spend a long time getting round! The walk is a mixture of woodland and river, with a steady climb back up to the house.
