Towards the end of this walk you will gently ascend the summit of Latrigg to experience one of the finest views of Keswick and Derwent Water.

The walk starts just outside Keswick and with the start height at around 1,000 feet has the advantage of walking some high-level footpaths without the challenging initial ascent.
(Those who wish for something more challenging may want to link this walk with Walk 3158 Keswick and Latrigg Fell).

The initial part of this walk starts on the lower slopes of the mighty Skiddaw, before slowly rising along the dramatic footpath high above Glenderaterra Beck on the lower slopes on Lonscale Fell.
Return is made down the opposite side of the valley on the lower slopes of Blease Fell to reach the Blencathra Outdoor Centre and then dropping down to cross Glenderaterra Beck once more, before making the final ascent to the summit of Latrigg.

We have done this walk a couple of times but we walked from Keswick, and the first time went down through Brundlholme wood nut, decided to follow your directions back to the car park. Its a great walk but a long one; over 10 mikes if from Keswick. Nice and quiet as not many people do this and the added benefit of toilets on the way back at the Blencathra Centre. They also have a vending machine for drinks Will definitely do it again.

A lovely walk, thank you. Clear instructions and route. We walked along to the top of Latrigg Fell and there are great ciews over Keswick and Derwent Water and a good path back to the car park.
