A relaxing circular short walk starting in Layer-de-la-Haye in Essex. From the church you follow field paths with great views over Abberton Reservoir before passing through the tiny hamlet of Malting Green. From here it's quiet country lanes, field paths and a stretch through a local nature reserve before arriving back at the church.
All paths were clear (Feb 2023) apart from two sections across a heavily ploughed field at waymarks 8 and 9 which haven't been maintained, so the walk directions take you around the field edge which local walkers use leaving only a short section to cross.
