A difficult, circular walk in the nature reserve of Sixt-Pessy, starting beneath the cirque of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval and going up the river valley before climbing the valley side to the Chalet du Boret and onto Le Bout du Monde (edge of the world). From here you descend along the valley floor back to the car park.
You start from the car park on the side of the D907 where the road ends. Cross over an area which has been damaged by avalanche to reach the Chalet de la Réserve de Sixt-Pessy. Here you leave the road and take a track through woodland up into the valley of the River Giffre. After crossing the river on a wooden footbridge you reach a buvette, the Chalet de Prazon. From here the path winds its way steeply up the valley side via the Pas du Boret, gaining 350m in about 1km.
From the Chalet du Boret, a refuge at the top of the climb, you gradually descend to the bottom of the cirque at the valley end, called Le Bout du Monde. The path turns back and follows the valley floor down to rejoin the up path at the Chalet du Prazon. After retracing your steps to the bridge you descend on the opposite side of the river to the car park.
