This walk is partly urban and partly coastal, with some semi-wild bits between. The OS maps and local signs indicate nature reserves that you might not expect here and if you look around you will see wide areas of reedbeds that are rich in wildlife, especially when migrating birds return in spring. Toilets and a cafe part way round are useful features and the walk along the sea wall gives views up the Lancashire coast, as well as an invigorating breeze.
