Combining a railway walk with coast, field and forest, this walk has something for everyone! On the way down to Ilfracombe on the old railway track (gradient 1:36) you pass two reservoirs. There are then fine views down on to Ilfracombe, which you can optionally explore before continuing on your way.

In the next section you savour the delights of a section of Coast Path, passing a dwelling named the Blue Mushroom on the way. A country lane brings you down to the delightful harbour at Lee. Lee also has a pub, The Grampus Inn, where you might decide to have a break.

From Lee you have a gentle ascent through the woods of the Borough Valley, before crossing the stream and breaking out into open fields for the final leg.

This is a nice walk that starts off pleasant and gets much better on the return from Ilfracombe. Tim and Becka

Wonderful walk - many thanks to the couple who put it on here. It really does have everything: a railway walk / town / stunning coast / a pretty seaside village / gnarly old woods with massive ferns / pine woods & open fields. There's lots of ups & downs so it gives you a good workout. You do need waterproof footwear as there are muddy bits. Me & my dog thoroughly recommend this very rewarding walk.
