The walk goes directly from the car park across heathland by sandy tracks at first and, with one notable exception, is well-marked with posts bearing a logo of a pink umbrella – don't ask. It then goes along old cinder tracks which are the remains of roads laid down in Victorian times as part of the construction of a new seaside resort before returning across the heathland to pick up the outward route. This is one of a series of walks done from home during the 2020 lockdown.
