Although this is a short walk, it takes in two very different aspects of the Cotswold landscape. We begin and end in Lineover Wood, which is a real gem. It has areas of ancient woodland with an abundance of flora and fauna (see the additional info' section). The bluebells in spring are a particular delight. Ravensgate Common is on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment and offers some glorious views over Cheltenham and the Severn Vale. On a clear day the view extends to the Malvern Hills and the Black Mountains. With our elevated starting point, you reach this viewpoint without any serious uphill climbing. (And if you prefer to avoid the uphill stretches later in the walk, you can simply retrace your steps from Waymark 5).
