Both Ling Fell and Sale Fell are the subjects of excellent individual walks: Joe Jackson's 7048 walk up Ling Fell and the same author's 6377 Wythop Mill to Sale Fell, but nobody has linked these two excellent small Wainwrights as a single, short, half-day walk. The ascent of Sale Fell is also from a different approach.

These two small Wainwrights enjoy fantastic views over the Skiddaw Range and the Cumbrian coastal plain. The walk enables novice hill-walkers to enjoy the views without too much effort and Wainwright baggers to get two ticks on the list.

All round, an enjoyable, short, half-day's outing.
