This is just a short walk which summits only one Wainwright, called Ling Fell. It starts in a small parking area next to Brumston Bridge and follows a short section of country lanes to the open fellside. The ascent is fairly gentle, thanks to The Old Corpse Road which gradually gains height and offers fantastic views over the Embleton Valley. The route turns south to the triangulation column on the top of the fell at a height of 373m (1,224ft), with amazing views in all directions including the towering peaks of Skiddaw and Grisedale Pike. The descent follows a path to the east and steeply down the side of the fell back to an old track. The path turns north back round the fell and back to the road towards Brumston Bridge.
