The walk starts at the station car park. Close to the station is the Union Canal. The walk goes along the canal towpath and then follows tracks to its highest point, from where there are good views of the Bathgate Hills and Forth Valley.

Shortly after passing Parkley Place Farm, the walk goes right through a short, narrow, indistinct and overgrown path which leads into a residential development at Parkley Craigs. The walk follows the road out of Parkley Craigs onto the road into Linlithgow. The road crosses the canal-bridge at the canal basin, which is close to the station.

Lovely walk, especially in late summer, early Autumn when all the corn is up. Take care at Point 8, because the overgrown path is VERY easily missed - its on your right, only a few metres down from the corner where the path turns left round the corner of the field. And to get from Point 10 to Point 11, follow the road up the hill - it does look like a driveway, but its the road.
