This walk is across fields and along tracks and through woodland, where wildflowers flourish and butterflies are in abundance. The route crosses the meadows belonging to Mannington Hall, where special footpaths have been created by the owner, Sir Robin Walpole. The moated manor-house was built in the 15th Century and the gardens are open to the public, afternoons, from May to September. For more information tel: 01263-584175. The Walpole Arms in Itteringham has an exceptional menu and a selection of real ales.
