Until recently, the Liitle Doward Hill-fort was covered in forest. Now that has been cleared, this short walk offers a journey full of interest with caves, woodland, natural rock walls and some sweeping views. This walk offers an ideal chance to 'stretch your legs' after driving down the M50! Children will enjoy the caves and the natural defences of the fort are impressive. It's good for dogs too, except for a couple of stiles.

I regret doing this walk - on the last day of our stay in the area as I would definitely have done it again. It's a little gem of a walk with lots to offer apart from beautiful woodland and great views there was a rope swing, autumn crocuses and of course the caves, which I couldn't resist exploring with the torch on my phone. I'm pleased to say there was no problem with overgrown nettles or brambles. At point 8 there is no longer a water trough, but just turn before the marked footpath.

The path at point 6 is no longer passable being completely overgrown with brambles, and obviously not used for a long time. Instead turn right at the top of the steps at Point 5 and follow the path to the top of the hill. Return the same way to the junction of paths at Point 8.
