The walk takes in some lanes, field-paths and a stroll along the edge of Hollinworth Lake. The cafe and toilets halfway round make it a good bet for a family half-day outing. There are also good views of the lake and of the Pennines.

We found that as you progress down from waypoint 11 the path became very overgrown and as it met the stream became impassable unless you were wearing wellies. Sorry had to turn back. Dave Slater 24/06/2024

Completed this walk 5 September. Really enjoyed it, although around the lake can get very busy... Managed to park at the Fisherman's pub, started in the wrong direction first, so we ended up tagging on an extra half mile. Really enjoyed this walk and you get to see some great views....

Did this walk with 3 children (ages 2 to 8) and a 3 wheel buggy. Couple of gates to get over but apart from that it was ideal. Motorbike race taking place near waypoint 11 which was very noisy, but if you like that kind of thing..... Very wet just after this point, suggest you go through the larger gate and follow the small path through the field keeping the fence on your right. You'll come to a stile just before waypoint 12 where you can rejoin the path. This should keep your feet dry! Cafe is very basic, don't expect sausage and chips as we did! The drinks and biscuits were eagerly devoured!
