Sefton MBC has put a lot of work into the creation of this park from wetland used only for tipping in recent times. While it is the Rimrose and not quite the Primrose Valley, its success as a nature reserve is undoubted - even the water rail has been heard here and the first sound I heard when I came to take the photographs for this walk was a chiff-chaff only 30m from Merseyrail. The walk is almost flat and takes you around the fringes of the park and to large areas of reedbeds, before a return along the Leeds - Liverpool Canal.

Although I have already visited this park I was surprised to be taken to areas I never knew existed. This is a very pleasant walk and ideal for dogs as there are no roads involved. Though my daft dog did fall in the canal. I'll definitely do this again.

We see that someone has been "on-the-ball" and brought the walk up-to-date. Good to see the reported problems are sorted out so quickly. Thanks for the quick action.

Did this walk on 2.12.2012. Area of parkland much bigger than expected and a nice walk...thanks to originator. It needs updating though: Wpt 5/6 Footbridge not as in photo. Railings are missing. Wpt 12/13 "Other" notice board non-existent. Misleading to walker. Wpt 15 Notice Board non-existent. Wpt 17 Cannot remember seeing Notice Board or picnic table.
