After a gentle stretch of canal-walking the route takes us up steeply as far as the tramway that contours the Blorenge. There is an optional visit to the Punch Bowl, a nature reserve and a lovely spot for lunch. The route follows Hill's Tramway along the side of the mountain, passing an old tunnel and still showing the evidence of the old tramway in the stone sleepers along the way. When we leave the tramway we drop down through woodland to cross the 'Keepers Road' and continue down an old roadway to Govilon. From here the return route is via the canal or the old railway line, depending on choice.
