A mountain-top walk with none of the climb - that is what a walk in the Begwyns has been called. The walk starts from Llowes, a small village close to the River Wye and a long, slow climb to the top of the Begwyns begins from the start, most of it so gentle you won't even notice.
The Begwyns themselves are an area of open access land, which are over 400 metres above sea level, owned by the National Trust. At the highest point sits the Roundabout, a small wooded area surrounded by a circular stone wall, built to celebrate the millennium. From here there are panoramic views from which almost the entire length of the Brecon Beacons National Park can be seen.
