This walk requires two cars and may, of course, be done from either end. The route followed here offers the best views...to Ben Wyvis (1000m), to the West Highlands and into Strathnairn. The path is good all the way and does not require special footwear. The early part is a little shut-in, in forest; the middle is open moor and the last section is very open, young forest with views at all times. The little nature reserve (RSPB) at the end of Loch Ruthven is one of the few remaining breeding grounds in the country of Slavonian grebes.
