The walk begins in Loddon village centre close to the church and shops. Following the main street initially, the route then runs alongside a stream, across the busy Norwich Road and onto a wide, grassy, ancient beach. The imposing Hales Hall, now a wedding venue, is encountered, before the route takes us again across gentle farmland. The return from the tiny hamlet of Thwaite St Mary is on a good track and quiet lane.
