This is an ideal walk for all the family and could easily be combined with a trip to the Longdown Dairy Farm and also the New Forest Wild Life Park. It is the sort of walk that the kids will love because there are so many streams to ford and boggy bits to negotiate - I suggest that you wear wellies! The gorse is a sight to behold in the spring as indeed is the heather during the summer. The route is mainly quite open across heathland and there are usually plenty of New Forest ponies to see, happily roaming around.
There are no stiles and my Labrador loves this walk!

I have redone the walk and didn't get lost once! Thank you for making it a bit clearer. Lovely walk to do in the evening.

A beautiful area to walk. We got lost but Forestey Commission tree cutting and tracks very unclear. Managed to walk in a circle by default. Will be back to try again. Very dog friendly.

Second attempt on Friday 21st May but got bogged out again so we went back to the Wildlife Centre. They now have three beautiful wolves! Will try again in August... 3rd time lucky?
