Longshaw Country Park - Padley Gorge Circular
This is a free sample walk but you need to log in as a member of Walkingworld to access the details. Join or log in above if you are already a member.
Our walk takes us through Longshaw Country Park and Padley Gorge, managed by the National Trust. Our route takes us past Longshaw Lodge, originally a 19th Century hunting lodge for the Dukes of Rutland, now private flats. Across White Edge Moor we obtain some beautiful views before dropping down into the beautiful Padley Gorge, covered in ancient woodland with the Burbage Brook babbling over the rocks in small falls to add to the beauty. A passing visit to Grindleford Station with tea room makes for an excellent stop along the route, or start from the station if using public transport.
