This is an attractive walk around the hill country to the west of Constantina and an excellent introduction to the gentle landscape of the Sierra Norte. The walk is, for the most part, on broad dirt tracks and the gradients are mild. Much of the route is fringed with trees (primarily chestnuts and olives) providing welcome shade on a hot day, but there are also several places where clearings give fine open views to the north or south.
A final excursion to the 'Mirador Castillo de Constantina' is rewarded with a dramatic view over the town itself and an opportunity to explore the old Moorish castle. (If you decide to skip this excursion, the walk is reduced by about 1.6 kilometres and 25 metres of ascent).
