This walk is a pleasant stroll from the town of Almaden de la Plata down to the banks of the River Cala. For much of the route we follow a tributary of the Cala, Arroyo de los Molinos, on which was built a number of watermills for grinding corn. These date from the 15th Century, were based on old Arab technology and the remains of several of them can still be seen near the path. The surroundings are picturesque; we pass through olive groves and across oak meadowland that is often carpeted with wildflowers.
