This Northamptonshire walk starts from Lower Boddington, a peaceful, rural village set in beautiful countryside. It takes in Upper Boddington before heading to Byfield across fields and meadows on paths and bridleways that eventually reach the canal feeder from Boddington Reservoir. The reservoir itself is a haven for wildlife and a good area for birdwatchers. A sailing club operates here, using the strong unshielded winds that blow across such a large expanse of water; and there are quiet nature trails between the trees that grow in parts of the area. It is but a short distance upon leaving the reservoir to reach Lower Boddington again, an altogether pleasant and exhilarating experience.
